Disney Acquires Marvel


Today, August 31st 2009, it was announced that Disney spent $4 billion to acquire Marvel Entertainment. Some of Marvel’s characters include Spider-Man, Iron Man, the X-Men, Captain America, Thor and the Fantastic Four.

What does this mean for the theme parks? It remains to be seen. Currently Universal Islands of Adventure is home to many Marvel character themed rides, such as the Spiderman 4D attraction and Hulk rollercoaster.
